Elevatoring Specialist Philippines Inc. was founded in 2011 by Dr. Erico S. Pacaba, PhD, a recognized pioneer and expert in conveying systems in the Philippines. Many of the country’s top homegrown conveying systems engineers credit Dr. Pacaba as their teacher, mentor, and inspiration.

Prior to establishing ESP Inc., Dr. Pacaba was tapped by KONE Elevators Corp. to establish and lead the Philippine subsidiary of KONE Elevators. Under his leadership, KONE Philippines Inc. grew to be one of the largest suppliers of conveying systems in the 1980's and 1990's, securing headline projects such as the Asian Development Bank, and serving the most well-known developers in the country. By the late 1990's, Dr. Pacaba was credited for leading KONE Philippines Inc. to being the top performing KONE Elevators Corp. subsidiary in the world.

However, Dr. Pacaba noticed a worrying trend - he noticed that conveying systems suppliers would place their need for sales above those of their clients, frequently pushing for products or services that are not needed, taking advantage of brand, or a lack of specialized expertise in conveying systems in pursuit of profit. As an engineer through and through, Dr. Pacaba's passion has always been about using technology to improve the quality of life of his customers and their loved ones, and so in 1997, he vacated his position at KONE Philippines Inc. and established Lifting Systems Philippines Inc., a conveying systems consultancy meant to ensure that the needs and interests of his clients were well-represented.
